The Aresa 12 D is a boat that is specially built for fishing with a hydraulic scraper with which we are able to gather different species of mollusks such as clams, cockles, tallarinas and razor clams among many others.

It is an ideal tool for fishing in bodies of water closed off from the sea such as bays, gulfs and inlets, though it may also be used along the coastline close to shore.

The mechanism used is a scraper or metal box that we lower into the sea with a davit situated at the bow of the boat. Then we continue with sweeping the bottom, aided by a pressurized water tube that impacts the sea bottom and removes the substratum at which point we gather the mollusks.

Once the procedure is over, the scraper is hoisted aboard where the crew then cleans it, sorts according to size and packs the catch in bags. All of this is performed by the same mechanism located on the deck. We call it "Size selecting bench". It starts collecting the scraper´s contents and finishes by bagging the mollusks in labeled bags ready to be shipped to the purifying plant. Due to this system, the Aresa 12 D can work with just 2 crew members, though it has a work area for 4.
